Appointment of the hydrogen market area manager by the hydrogen transport network operators

16. Dezember 2025 In accordance with section 1 of the Federal Network Agency's ruling on the hydrogen balancing and accounting model (WasABi) dated October 27, 2025, the hydrogen transport network operators appointed Trading Hub Europe GmbH (THE) as the hydrogen market area manager on December 8, 2025, within the specified time limit. THE accepted the appointment on December 12, 2025.

This marks another important step toward a unified German hydrogen market area, in which THE will leverage its many years of experience as a market area manager in the gas sector to profitably perform its new tasks in the hydrogen sector.

Following the appointment, THE will work with all relevant market players to ensure efficient implementation with the aim of creating all the system and organizational conditions necessary for taking on the new tasks by January 1, 2028.
