Sustainability

Our commitment - from the region for the region

Our mission is to provide a secure, reliable and efficient as well as climate-friendly and intelligent supply of gas. Even if our gas pipelines extend to neighbouring countries, terranets bw remains deeply rooted in Baden-Württemberg and Hesse.

Our strong connection with the region can also be seen in our social and ecological commitment. Between 2015 and today, we have supported more than 40 projects and organisations in Baden-Württemberg with a total amount of 95,000 euros.

Partner to the dena pilot study "Towards Climate Neutrality"

Together with more than ten scientific institutes, over 70 business representatives and a 45-member advisory board with experts from science, politics and society, the German Energy Agency (dena) defined decisive fields of action and approaches to solutions to achieve climate neutrality in Germany by 2045. In total, 84 tasks were identified in central fields of action. The energy industry, the construction industry and transport were thereby considered.

terranets bw took part as a partner in this study, in particular in the energy module, and agrees with the core concerns set out in the study.

Further information is available at dena:

environmental program
"Oil & Gas Methane
Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0)"

The OGMP 2.0 environmental programme brings together oil and gas companies, international organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations to improve the accuracy and transparency of methane emissions reporting. The aim is to reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.

As a partner, terranets bw is working to better understand its methane emissions profile and use this knowledge to reduce emissions sustainably.

Our projects
for sustainability in the region

Restoration of moors in the Reinhardwald Nature Park in Hesse

Together with Bergwaldprojekt e.V., terranets bw implemented the rewetting of the Lempenmoor in the Rheinhardswald Nature Park in Hesse in October and November 2023. The focus was on raising the water level and redistributing the water so that the slope water is diffused and spread over the area. The project thus makes an important contribution to climate protection, biodiversity and improving the water balance in the landscape.
